As an Accredited Member ofThe International Society of Appraisers he has passed an intensive series of tests on appraising and the nationally required Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) test.
Additionally, he is Certified inAntique and Decorative Arts Appraisal Studies at The George Washington University, Washington, DC.He has also studied antiques at The Charleston Art & Antiques Forum,The Du Pont Winterthur Museum for American Decorative Arts in Delaware and The Williamsburg Institute in Virginia.
Greer serves on the Decorative Arts Acquisition Committee for The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, the City's largest and oldest public museum. This committee researches and purchases rare and fine antiques, glass, silver and other decortaive objects for the museum.
He is the past president of The Midsouth Chapter of The International Society of Appraisers. For three years he wrote a monthly column on antiques for The Commercial Appeal.
